Hooshang Meshkinpour, MD, FACP

 

Dr. Hooshang Meshkinpour was born in 1940 in Teheran, Iran and he was raised in a middle class family. He completed his medical education at Teheran University School of Medicine and had his residency training in Internal Medicine at Tufts University in Boston and his specialty training in Gastroenterology at Temple University in Philadelphia.  Dr. Meshkinpour joined University of California, Irvine where he has been actively involved in medical research, teaching and patient care since 1977. Presently, he is an Emeritus professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Meshkinpour has published numerous original papers on biomedical subjects in peer-reviewed journals and several on social policies.

Dr. Meshkinpour has been a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1972 and a Diplomat of the American Board of Gastroenterology since 1973. He served as a member of the California Medical Board from 1988 to 1990, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.  Dr. Meshkinpour has been awarded seven times as a “Best Doctor in America”.

Currently, Dr. Meshkinpour is actively practicing Clinical Gastroenterology, in Irvine, California. Gastrointestinal cancer prevention, management of Gastro esophageal acid reflux conditions, swallowing disorders are among his clinical expertise. He performs all diagnostic gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures like Esophago-Gastroscopy, Esophageal Dilatation technics, Colonoscopy, Polypectomy, Esophageal Manometry, prolonged pH-Impedance monitoring studies and Ano-Rectal Manometry procedures.
